If you’ve never been to Meadowlark Gardens, it’s truly a gem in Northern Virginia. With its lush gardens, winding stone pathways, open meadows, and stunning water features, it offers a variety of gorgeous backdrops all in one location. During this session, we explored a mix of Flower-filled gardens for soft, romantic images. Open fields with natural light for a classic senior portrait feel. Bridges and ponds to add a little extra magic and variety. We even took some portraits in the beautiful greenhouse!

It’s an ideal spot for seniors who want their portraits to feel natural and timeless, while still offering plenty of variety for a custom gallery.

August is a great time to capture the majestic lily pad flowers in pastel pink.

This senior came prepared with a few carefully chosen outfits for each location we visited. She knew exactly what she wanted — a session that would capture all of the things she loves right now.

We started our adventure at a vintage record shop, where her love of music took center stage. The nostalgic vibe of rows of vinyl records made for some incredibly cool and unique portraits.

Next, we headed to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA. The lush gardens and open pathways were perfect for dreamy, timeless images that her family will cherish for years to come.

From there, we stopped by a local park, incorporating the playground she spent countless hours at growing up — a beautiful nod to childhood memories.

And finally… one of my favorite parts of the session — a quick stop at the local 7-Eleven for Slurpees! Yes, we got some fun and totally unexpected shots that perfectly captured her playful, adventurous spirit.
