Newborn Photography Sessions

Infants are best photographed in the first ten days of life. It is easier to capture those adorable newborn poses while your baby still slumbers regularly in a deep sleep. Newborn sessions are held in our studio in Waterford, Virginia. The studio provides a warm and soothing environment that lulls your baby to sleep and enables us to obtain memorable photographs. If you are interested in a newborn session, it is best to contact us at the end of your second trimester to book the session. Of course, you can contact us anytime - even after the baby is born. We love working with newborns and will do our best to accommodate your request.

The newborn session fee is $300. This includes up to three hours of session time including breaks taken for diaper changes and feedings. If you plan to include siblings in the session, we highly recommend that you consider extending the session duration. Doing so will provide the time needed to create both stunning newborn photographs and portraits with siblings. Sessions may be extended, in advance or during the session, by purchasing additional time in half-hour blocks at the rate of $50 per half hour. The session fee includes a pre-session consultation, the photography session, image editing, the ordering appointment, and a private online gallery to share with your friends and family. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book this session. The remainder of the fee is due at the time of the session.

Based upon the preferences communicated during the pre-consultation, Jennifer will determine the order of poses for the newborn photography session. This order may be modified by the photographer during the session based upon any number of factors. If one pose or setting is not working, it’s best to move on to another. During the session, other forms of photography or image capture are prohibited. At the end of the session, we will discuss scheduling the ordering appointment which usually occurs two to three weeks after the session. Your private, online gallery will be available after the ordering appointment, and will remain accessible for a minimum of 60 days. This gallery allows your friends and family to review the photographs, and facilitates the purchase of any gift prints. Images uploaded to your gallery will be stored by Jennifer Jule Studios for one year from the date of the session. After this period the images may be deleted without notice. Longer-term storage options are available, but must be arranged in advance of the one-year anniversary of the session.

All photographs and images are owned and copyrighted by Jennifer Jule Studios. Taking or downloading any image or photograph appearing in your gallery or on our website is strictly prohibited by Federal Copyright Law. Our standard print release accompanies the purchase of digital files, and grants the purchaser non-exclusive permission to use the file(s) for non-commercial printing, emailing, texting, sharing, and posting to social media.
